Mr. Burnett Ball, Jr.

Bro. Burnett Ball, Jr., 64, of Jayess, MS, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at his residence. Services will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, at 12pm at West Holy Hill COGIC in Jayess, MS. Visitation will begin 11am until 12pm at the church. Elder Terry Bridges will officiate the services. Interment will be in West Holy Hill Church Cemetery. Burnett Ball Jr. was born on March 28, 1961, to the late Dixie Ball and the late Burnett Ball Sr. in Columbia, Mississippi. He was later in life blessed with a loving bonus mother, Mrs. Mildred Ball. He was proceeded in death by his parents: Dixie Ball, Burnett Ball Sr., and his sister: Barbara Poole. Burnett Ball Jr. was better known by all of his loved ones as “Jr”. Jr. received his formal education in Marion County, Mississippi. While receiving his education, Jr. was also a member of the basketball team. He was a member of West Holy Hill Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Terry C. Bridges. He was employed by TL Wallace where he held several positions in the heavy machinery and construction industry for over thirty years. He then ventured on to Sanderson Farms where he was a forklift operator for the last five years. Jr. lived a humble life. He was a hard-working, resilient, generous man who loved to have a good time. He was married to Sharon Denise Ball for over twenty years. To this union two daughters were born; Destiny Ball and Dy’Mond Ball to whom he was a loving and devoted father as well as being a devoted grandfather to each of their children (Cairo and Kalani). Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his bereaved wife, Sharon Ball, his bonus mom, Mildred Ball, his daughters, Destiny Ball, Dy’Mond Ball, and Adrianna Ball, his son, Devon Ball, his mother in law to whom he shared a special bond, Vertie Harness, his son in love, Carlos Porter, his sisters, Beverly Virgil and Shannon Keys, his brothers, John Bennet Poole, Andre Anderson(Hideyo), Adrian Anderson(Angela) and Ephraim Anderson, his grandchildren, Cairo Porter and Kalani Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other loved ones. The memory of his infectious smile will warm our hearts on our saddest days. His memories will be cherished and never forgotten!
