Ms. Louise Walker Reed

A time to be born Sister Louise Walker Reed was born December 13th, 1946 to Henry and Willie Mae Walker in Summit, MS. She was the sixth of nine children of this union. A time to Live Louise was a member of the band and the basketball team at Higgins High School. She graduated in 1966. She married and started a family with Dewitt Reed. She had two children: Derrick and Laurie Reed. Louise was affectionally known as “Lou” and “Weezy” All her friends knew her for cooking and sharing a delicious home cooked meal. After Lou’s mother passing, she embraced the role of being the family matriarch. She committed herself to Christ at an early age. She later became a devoted member of St. Mary F.W.B. Church. Lou was a no nonsense person but she had love and compassion for others. This kindness lead her to make a career as a CNA and caregiver at both McComb Extended Care and McComb Nursing and Rehab. A time to Answer On January 16, 2023, God sent his angels an assignment to claim our beloved Louise as she transitioned. She was preceded death by her son: Derrick Reed; her parents; three sisters: Williesteen Walker Peary, Bettye Walker, Christien Walker, three brothers: Albert, Clarence and Robert Walker; one aunt: Carrie Lee Dotson. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one daughter: Laurie (Reginald) Clayton; two sisters: Lillie and Helen Walker; three brothers: John, Louis and Alfred Walker; five grandchildren: Stacey (Termaine) Landrew, Marvsharika Quinn, Brandie (Daniel) Smith, Reginald Clayton, Jr. and Darius Bishop; four great-grandchildren: Colben, Cailyn Caisyn Landrew and Daniel Smith, II; a daughter of Lou’s heart: Shavon Ohimu and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives church family and dear friends. Visitation hour for Ms. Reed is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2023 at Saint Mary #1 in McComb, MS, from 12pm until funeral hours at 1pm. Pastor James Banks will officiate the service with interment to follow in Dinah #2 cemetery located in McComb, MS.
