Mrs. Sallie Pearl Carr

Mrs. Sallie P. Carr was born August 11, 1944, to Annie Mae & Roy Lee Edmond in Louisville MS. She was a member of West Sunnyhill M.B. Church was where she served as a choir member and other positions. She graduated from Louisville Colored High School on May 19, 1962. After graduating, she moved to Chicago and began her working career. She worked at a few places before working at Stewart & Warner for many years and made many friends. In 1966, she met Addo Carr, who told her at that time, "he didn't want to get serious, because he didn't want to get married." She in turn just smiled and replied "well baby your bachelor days are over!" They married on February 3, 1968. Together, they raised one daughter, Cynthia Carr-Brown. Mrs. Sallie P. Carr & her husband retired and moved back to Tylertown, Ms, in November 1987. They enjoyed their time and life together and became grandparents to Salisha Carr aka “Punkin,” who they helped raise for two years. Mrs. Sallie P. Carr departed this life on January 23, 2023, in Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, California, after a long up and down battle with illness. She was preceded in death by her parents: Roy Lee & Annie Mae Edmond, husband, the love of her life, Addo Carr, sister: Ruby Wilson, brother: Philip Edmond, father & mother in-law: JC & Will B Carr, six brother-in-laws: Joe Wilson, Johnny Q. Carr, LJ Carr, Rev. Rawls, Melvin Graham, Johnny Sanders & Jesse Butler, four sister-in-laws: Jessie Graham, Perlean Edmond, Jessie Lee Carr, & Lillean Carr. She leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of memories: her daughter Cynthia Carr-Brown of Carlsbad California: her granddaughter Salisha Carr of Carlsbad California: one sister: Annie Kate (Willie) Brown of Columbus, Ms, four brothers: Leon (Evelyn) Edmond of Maywood, IL, James (Josie)Edmond, Willie (Debra) Edmond both of Louisville, Ms, Howard (Adrienne) Edmond of Oklahoma city, Oklahoma, Three brother-in-laws: Clifford (Myrtis) Carr, Lessie Carr both of Tylertown, Ms, Ellis James Carr of Houma, La, eight sister-in-laws: Alyne Butler of Pontiac Mi,Willean Rawls, (Rev Rawls) Jerzine(Robert) Simmons of Clarkston, Mi, Ellah Sanders of Memphis, Tn, Otta Carr, Gloria Conerly, Arie Campbell, (Syleary) Videaner Carr all of Tylertown, Ms, Two Sister-in-laws: Scellestine Carr of Tylertown, Ms, Janis Manning of Houma, La, nieces & nephews that were good help to her: Ret. Seniors Chief Henry (Cassandra) Carr of Murrieta, Ca, Loria(Mark) Butler, Persondra Carr, Michelle (Derrick) Dillion, Cynthia T.(Sam) Carr-Magee of Tylertown, Ms, Shonda (Al) Carr-Nicholas , Clifford 'Randy' Carr both of Tylertown, Ms, and honorary family Sebastian Bustillos and Eleanor Bustillos of Escondido, CA, Satia Austin of Oceanside, CA, Rhonda Guiterrez of Carlsbad, CA and a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. To know her is to love her because she never met a stranger. Many loved her and she will be truly missed.
