Mrs. Vivica Hughes Williams

Vivica Latrice Hughes Williams peacefully transitioned from this temporal life to her eternal home on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was born on January 27, 1976, in McComb, Mississippi, to the late Reverend Ellis Hughes Sr. and Merline Hughes. At an early age, Vivica accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith remained the foundation of her life. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Pleasant Springs, where she later served with grace and humility as First Lady until her passing. Her devotion to God and His people was evident in both her service and her daily walk. Vivica was a proud graduate of South Pike High School, Class of 1994, and furthered her education at Hinds Community College. On January 29, 2000, she married her high school sweetheart, Chad Anthony Williams. Their loving union was blessed with three sons, Jaelyn, Justin, and Jordan, who were the pride and joy of her life. A woman of unwavering faith, Vivica found joy in worship music, fellowship, and serving others. She lived a life of selflessness, consistently placing the needs of others before her own. Through a gentle word, a listening ear, or a quiet prayer, she possessed a rare gift of making everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Vivica was a dedicated and loyal employee of Kroger for more than twenty years, retiring in 2020. During her tenure, she truly never met a stranger. Her warm smile, kind spirit, and genuine compassion made her a beloved presence to coworkers and customers alike. She was a light in every space she entered. She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Ellis Hughes Sr., her sisters Erika Denise Moore and Eleanor Walton, her brother Knobert Hughes Sr., and her niece Mckenzie Denise Hughes. Vivica leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband of twenty six years, Chad Anthony Williams; her sons Jaelyn Williams of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Justin and Jordan Williams of Magnolia, Mississippi; her beloved grandson Rhylan Anthony Williams of Magnolia, Mississippi; her mother Merline Hughes of Magnolia, Mississippi; her brothers Timothy Hughes and wife Karen of Byram, Mississippi, Reverend Carl R. Hughes of McComb, Mississippi, and Ellis Hughes and wife Elaine of Jackson, Mississippi; her sisters Corey McGowan and husband Earnest of Acworth, Georgia, and Caren Nathaniel and husband LeKendrick of Magnolia, Mississippi; her parents in law Wallace and Frances Williams of Magnolia, Mississippi; her brother in law Brandon Williams and wife Nikki of Magnolia, Mississippi; her sisters in law Tiffany Cassame of Franklinton, Louisiana, and Linda Hughes of Magnolia, Mississippi; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, church family, and friends. Vivica’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and service. Her legacy will continue to live on through every life she touched and every heart she uplifted.
